The pile is not overly plush, but quite comfortable to lay on, as the fibers are not scratchy. I wouldn't take a nap there, but to lay on while watching tv, reading a book, or playing with a baby/pet, it's fine. I have a pad underneath mine, but it's just a precaution to prevent any scratches on my wood floors.

I have it in our living area on top of thick wall to wall carpeting. It doesn't have any other padding under it. It is low, smooth and velvety to the touch. I recently laid on the rug with my 5 month old grandson and it is very comfortable.

I LOVE this rug! The pile is very dense, but not thick as in height. We have it in our family room and wanted it a little more cushiony so we got 1/4" padding from our local carpet store. The padding also protects the hardwood finish from being "ground away" by the webbing underside. We cut the padding to come within 1/2" or so from the edge of the rug, just enough so the edge of the rug will lay on the floor and you don't see the padding.

To be honest I haven't laid it out yet. The house isn't ready. Sorry, I know that doesn't help you. It is pretty. I don't think it will be comfortable enough to nap on but feels soft.

Yes, I would say that describing it as mustard yellow (or maybe gold) is accurate, but there's not much of it. Other than the ivory background! the dark blue is the most prominent color and I would say gray is probably the second. We have a dark blue sofa and love seat, light green walls, a striped chair of green/dark blue/ivory/brick red and a gray stone fireplace and this rug looks perfect in our family room. This rug replaced a light colored Berber-type carpet/rug and I was thrilled that this rug tied all the existing colors together making the room cohesive. If I could attach a photo I would, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

Interesting that the previous answer said yes. I took a good look when I got home last night, and to me there was no gray. It's shades of ivory, various shades of blue and some accents of yellow. There is a really dark blue color in the border pattern that might be taken for charcoal grey but that's about it. It is a great looking rug and I do love it in my dining room if that's any help.

I bought the Safaviah rug and only later saw that Nuloom had what looked like the same exact rug. To me they look the same. I don't think you can tell by comparing the photos if there is a difference as the photo reproductions are never exact. I can only tell you that I love the rug I bought. I wish I could be more helpful but unless you put the actual rugs side by side I think you just can't know for sure.
